Tip #1: Pick the right shoes. Investing in an expensive, high quality shoes are worth it. I don’t mean just get any pair that you like, but get something that will help you look sharp and respectable. With expensive brands they usually are very comfortable shoes and lasts quite a long time. It’s smarter to buy 1-2 pair of good shoes that are comfortable and will last you years rather than buying 10 pairs that are cheap but will only last a few months. And even worse if the shoes are uncomfortable to wear. And always remember keep them clean and shiny at all times:)
Tip #2: Don’t wear a strong scented cologne. Wait, what I really mean is...don’t go crazy with it! Guys guys please puhhhlease! It’s cool if you used to do this, especially when hitting a club on a Saturday night. It’s good to smell good but it can be offensive and unattractive when you smell like you just poured the whole bottle all over you! You want to smell good and fresh. Apply just the right amount, couple spritz and you’re good to go. Overwearing your cologne just isn’t classy.
Tip #3: Age your look a little. The way you dress is the way you are perceived. If you want to be perceived as a boy, then dress like a boy. If you want to be treated like a man with experience in the real world, you’ll have to look it! This doesn’t mean you have to wear dress pants or suit all the time. If it’s a casual day at work, try matching a pair of jeans with a linen material collared shirt. Go through your wardrobe, maybe it’s about time to change things up. Get rid of the super baggy pants, we’re not in the 90’s anymore! Wear more ties or pocket squares when appropriate depending on your day, meetings, etc.
Tip #4: Wear clothes that fit you perfectly. Guys, be mindful of this. There is nothing more unflattering than wearing something that’s not your right size. Doing so can result into looking either bigger than you actually are or smaller than you are. Below is an image from GQ online, clearly the wrong fit is on the left, while the right image is the right fit. You can see the wrong fit just appears off while the right fit is just looking classy and sharp.
Tip #5: Good posture. Broaden those shoulders and keep your head straight to where you’re going. If you’re looking down a lot when walking how are you supposed to see what’s ahead of you? When you stand up straight, you’ll automatically look leaner and it projects confidence. Look at the person in the eye when talking to them. People are going to avoid talking to you if they know you're not the approachable type of person. Below is a good reference I got off Google images. Stand straight, sit up straight. Catch yourself when you notice you are slouching. It's only a matter of time and you'll find yourself with a good posture.
