Why You Should Ditch Ties For Bow Ties

Why You Should Ditch Ties For Bow Ties

Listen up guys – if you’re over the necktie, then it’s time to meet your new favorite accessory: the bow tie! Sure, a necktie might be the traditional accessory to reach for whenever you have a formal event or have to dress up for work, but if you want to be different and cool at the same time, wear a bow tie instead. A regular tie screams ordinary and simple, but slap on a bow tie in any color or pattern and you automatically have style and sophistication like no other. Just like the right pair of shoes can transform any woman’s outfit, the right neck wear can make or break your outfit and you can never go wrong with a confident-looking bow tie! Here are a few reasons why you need to ditch boring ties and opt for bold bow tie.

1. Stand Out Look

If you want to fit in with the masses, go ahead and wear that necktie you’ve been wearing for years. But if you want to stand out from everyone else, a bow tie is just what you need. In fact, the bow tie is the new “it” accessory for men’s 2015 summer fashion! Wedding season has started and you’ll see a dozen or more dude rocking regular neckties, but you’ll be the only one with true style in your bow tie! Opt for eye-catching bow ties in fun patterns and bright colors like the 13Mule City option or the 14Mule Blue Lagoon.

2. A Man Of Mystery

A man that wears a bow tie is hard to read because it says so many things. It’s nerdy, sophisticated, dapper, charming, stylish, bold, funny and so much more, so by wearing one, you’re automatically penned as a man of mystery. This will make people see you as interesting and want to get to know you better (a huge plus for the single gents out there). You can easily be a man of mystery in a traditional colored bow tie like the Brown Squirrel or Knight option (which are perfect for everyday use) or opt for stand out options like the Rocco Self-Tie bow tie or even the Orchid Self-Tie bow tie.

3. Practical

A tie can be annoying at times, getting in your way. Unless you have a pin holding it down, your necktie can sometimes have a life of its own. That’s not the case with a bow tie that sits in place. You don’t have to worry about it getting in your food or having it out of place since it sits tightly around your neck and will stay in place even after a full night of dancing!

There are many different bow tie styles to choose from – from clip-ons to the self-tie bow tie. And you don’t have to worry about how to tie a bow tie since there are numerous tutorials that’ll walk you through it. After a lot of practice, you’ll be a bow tie pro!

My favorite neck wear are ties but I believe wearing bow ties can give your wardrobe a look of sophistication. For this reason I have both ties and bow ties in my wardrobe. I think change is good and it keeps life from being boring. I also like wearing suspenders occasionally instead of a belt.
