What Should You Wear To The Airport?

What Should You Wear To The Airport?

These days, flying is no longer as glamorous as it used to be. In fact, in airports the world over, we often see people in onesies and ultra comfortable (but also ultra ugly) sweatpants, sweaters and hoodies. Whatever you do, don’t be that guy and fall into the trap of sacrificing your dignity at the expense of your comfort! When you realize that you can look good, stylish AND be comfortable, you will want to own the below-mentioned items immediately…

 1) Shoes.

This is often the most overlooked items when any guy is dressing for the airport. Bear in mind that you will be removing your shoes at security so anything with laces will only slow you down. Sneakers are therefore a bad idea! A wide pair of leather loafers is the ultimate is travelstyle because not only will they keep your feet comfortable while flying, but they will also look great and won’t slow you down and annoy others in the security line!

2) Pants.

When it comes to airport fashion, skinny jeans are a big no-no! Instead, rather opt for a pair of dark (to hide any marks or stains!) regular cut, wrinkle free jeans in stretchy type of fabric to avoid creasing. Chinos are also a great choice as they look incredibly smart but are comfortable too.

3) Jacket.

Want to get upgraded to first or business class? Forget about it if you are dressed in your favorite sloppy sweatpants and t-shirt! A dark, wrinkle free denim or leather jacket is great for keeping you warm in both the airport and on the plane. It will also complete your airport outfit and will have you looking smart and professional, thereby increasing your chances of that upgrade!

4) Scarf.

A scarf is always a great addition to your airport clothes because it will finish off your outfit nicely. It can also be folded up in several different ways and used as an additional pillow on a long-haul flight or simply to keep you warm in those cold and over air-conditioned airports and planes.

5) Socks.

Airports are renowned for being breeding grounds for nasty bacteria from literally all corners of the planet. If you don’t want to expose your feet to these dangerous gremlins, it is definitely in your best interests to wear a good quality pair of socks. A pair of socks will also keep your feet warm in the airport and on the plane! Just make sure that yours do not have any visible holes in them!

6) Sunglasses.

A pair of high end shades will never go amiss and should always accompany you to the airport. However, at all costs, avoid wearing them in the actual airport building as you will just look stupid! Instead, place them in your hand luggage for later (after your flight) in case your eyes are red, you have unsightly dark shadows beneath your eyes or you look and feel exhausted after your flight upon arrival.

7) A leather man bag.

Airport fashion also consists of stylish hand luggage. An understated leather man bag in black or brown will be your ideal companion and will serve you well. In it, you can place essential flying items such as your passport, wallet, sunglasses, cell phone, tablet, laptop, eye mask, book and newspaper. You will not regret purchasing this!
